Griffiths Valuations was founded in the mid nineteen nineties by the Derrick Griffiths. Over the next twenty-five years Derrick established Griffiths Valuations as an outstanding professional valuation practice and a well-known name in the property valuations environment, serving a wide client base in the private and public domain. After Derrick passed away in 2021, Cavin Griffiths, having worked with Derrick for approximately 6 years, took up the Griffiths Valuations baton. Griffiths Valuations strive to build on the proud history of the practice and to keep building on its reputation for  professionalism, integrity, objectivity, competence, due care, and confidentiality. They maintain strong professional relationships with other valuers and a diverse spread of property specialists to strengthen the knowledge base, leverage synergies, and improve the services offering.

Prior to becoming a property valuer Cavin held positions in finance and IT in different listed and private companies. He holds qualifications in Finance (BCom), Information & Knowledge Management (BPhil), Real Estate (MSc), Environmental Management (MEM), and Project Management (Dip). He is registered as professional valuer with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP) and is a member of the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV). He is also registered with the Chartered Institute for Business Accountants (CIBA). He has attended a wide range of valuation and property related courses and seminars and keeps abreast of the property and valuations market and industry through ongoing research, data compilation, and through attendance of related Continuous Education and Training (CED) / Continuous Professional Development (CPD) –  and other seminars and courses.
